Carl Lewis on how to perform at your best in a team

My Business editor Simon Sharwood is attending technology conference VMWorld 2011 this week.

One of the many parties at the event was thrown by backup software vendor Acronis, which invited Carl Lewis to speak.

We made to the party in time to hear the nine-times Olympic champion speak on the subject of performance, and how when he ran in relays he worked to give his team the best chance of winning.

The video we captured is a bit wonky - "refreshments" were plentiful and free at the party and we shot on an iPhone - but if you can put up with some wobbles you may learn an interesting approach to leading your business.

Simon Sharwood travelled to VMworld 2011 as a guest of VMware, which paid for his flights and accommodation.
