MEMBER WEBINAR
Tuesday 26th November 2024 | 12pm - 1pm AEDT
As leaders advance in their careers, they typically spend the first decade focused on operations, building valuable experience and expertise, and an understanding of what drives results for the business. However, when they step into senior leadership roles, many struggle to take the leap from tactical execution to strategic thinking. Whilst those that show some talent and grit are often justifiably rewarded with leadership roles, in more cases than not, the old “sink or swim” philosophy is applied.
The reality is, very few leaders are properly prepared for the responsibility of leading people, dealing with stakeholders, added complexity, managing more meetings and emails, and prioritising their time. For most leaders, this time often coincides with the incredibly busy period of middle life, when family, children, health and happiness all require more attention than ever. It’s the perfect storm to overwhelm.
When not handled well, this transition can increase risk, stop strategy execution and destroy culture within a business. But done with the right principles, support and development, the transition from operational to strategic leader can be done successfully.
THIS INSIGHTFUL SESSION WILL COVER:
1. The Root Case: The main reasons leaders struggle to leap from operational to strategic roles
2. The Cost: The unconsidered personal, cultural and business cost
3. Assessing Leaders and Supporting Each One: How to assess a leader’s performance and make considered moves to support them
4. The Broader High Performance Environment: The 5 Pillars of a High Performance Teams which needs to be built from the top down
5. Tricky Cases: What to do when leaders are unlikely to make the grade or shouldn’t be pursuing leadership roles
We hope that you will be able to join us for this valuable session by registering below.
