AANZFTA Certificate of Origin

Under the AANZFTA, goods that are wholly obtained or produced in Australia are eligible for the preferential tariff rates.

Goods that are partly produced in Australia can also be declared as originating in Australia providing third country inputs have undergone a change in tariff classification as a result of production processes in Australia or include inputs from ASEAN nations. Australian Business Chamber can assist you to obtain AANZFTA Certificate of Origin.

AANZFTA Certificates of Origin are required to access the reduced tariff/duty rates on goods under the ASEAN Australia New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA).

If you don’t register, or your goods don’t meet the rules of origin or lack an official AANZFTA Certificate of Origin, you can still export to ASEAN, however, your goods will be subject to import duties at higher general duty rates so your buyers will have to pay more

• Step 1: Complete an AANZFTA Exporter Registration Form (Form CO4A) to register your business under this FTA. If you haven’t used Certificates of Origin before you will also need to complete the Exporter Information Form (CO4).
• Step 2: Send your completed form(s) to Australian Business Chamber.
• Step 3: Once your form(s) have been received and accepted, we will send you the AANZFTA Certificate of Origin template.
