ROLLING BACK THE CURTAIN WITH ROSEVILLE CINEMAS
Emma Adario is the Managing Director of Roseville Cinemas – a small business that has stood the test of time for over 90 years. Roseville Cinemas has been operating since the 1930s, with Emma’s family acquiring the business in the 1970s.
The cinema employs around 20 staff, with one employee having been with the business for over 20 years.
Roseville Cinemas has faced a number of challenges during its operation, from the introduction of video, DVDs, and streaming services like Netflix and Stan.
Emma credits the business’ longevity and success to their commitment to having a unique point of view and excellent customer service. There is still a person selling tickets at the box office, selling goods at the candy bar and ripping your ticket as you enter the cinema.
Customers travel from as far as the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and the Southern Highlands for the authentic cinema experience. This is why Emma’s key piece of business advice is to be happy doing what you're doing and don’t change unless absolutely necessary.
“I think we'll pretty much continue doing what we've been doing so far as people seem to still enjoy what we're doing and if we need to change, we'll change as required.”
Roseville Cinemas has been a member of My Business for over 18 years. They use our Workplace Advice Line for updates on wage information and assistance with employee matters that may come up over time.
